Rent deposit

Tenants have not generally been required to pay a deposit since June 1, 2018.

A deposit is only required if a tenant has credit history problems. The deposit is paid before signing the agreement, by the date specified in the housing offer. The deposit is paid by the tenant to ensure they fulfill their responsibilities agreed upon in the rental agreement. Koas may deduct any possible cleaning or repair costs or unpaid rent from the deposit.

Refunding the deposit

The deposit will be returned to the tenant in full on the condition that all the tenant’s obligations have been met. The deposit will be returned to the bank account specified in the Termination of Tenancy request, within a month from the day tenancy ends. The rent deposit cannot be used to pay the last month’s rent.
